1. What this is
PhotoBalance is a free tool that helps you understand how your Google storage quota is divided, and what is inside your Google Photos library. It runs entirely in your browser. It is provided as-is, with no account, no payment and no contract beyond this page.
2. It never changes anything
PhotoBalance is read-only by construction. It holds no write access to any Google service and cannot delete, move or modify any photo, file or message. Every cleanup action it suggests is a link into Google's own interface, where you review and act yourself. Deletions are your decision and your responsibility — check what you are removing before you remove it, and keep a backup of anything you care about.
3. Figures are estimates
The storage split is derived from Google's own quota figures minus the Gmail total you supply; if that figure is wrong, the split is wrong by the same amount. The Takeout breakdown reflects your library as of the day the export was generated, excludes the bin, and may not match Google's live figure. Storage Saver savings are a rough estimate based on file sizes — Google's own tool shows the exact number before you confirm anything. Duplicate detection matches checksums and sizes, which is strong evidence but not proof of identity. Verify before deleting.
4. Acceptable use
Use PhotoBalance only with a Google account you are entitled to use, and with exports of data that is yours. Do not attempt to disrupt the service or use it to breach anyone's privacy.
5. No warranty
PhotoBalance is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. It may be unavailable, incomplete or inaccurate at any time.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for any loss of data, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential damage arising from your use of PhotoBalance — including data you delete in Google Photos after consulting it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Independence
PhotoBalance is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Google LLC. Google, Google Photos, Google Drive, Gmail and Google Takeout are trademarks of Google LLC.
8. Changes and availability
These terms may change; the date above records the last revision. The service is free and may be modified or withdrawn at any time.
